Fire breaks out at trash facility in Jamaica

About 100 firefighters battle a blaze that broke out Tuesday morning at a Jamaica waste disposal site, a Fire Department spokesman said.

The FDNY received the second-alarm emergency call about rubbish burning at 187-40 Hollis Ave. at about 9:25 a.m.. The spokesman said the fire was under control a little over two hours later at 11.42 a.m.

The blaze at the trash facility was under investigation as of Tuesday evening.
