Woman thrown to the ground in Woodside attempted burglary: NYPD

WOODSIDE — Police were searching for a burglary suspect who allegedly threw a 65-year-old woman to the ground and punched her in the head last month, the NYPD said.

The suspect allegedly approached the woman Jan. 30 as she was going into her apartment near 50th Street and 43rd Avenue in Woodside, police said.

After allegedly throwing her to the ground, the suspect then ran away, according to cops. The victim had bruising and swelling to her lip, police said.

The suspect is described as a white man between 50 and 60 years old and between 170 and 190 pounds, authorities said. He was last seen wearing a baseball cap, dark clothing and white sneakers, police said.
