A 67-year-old woman was slashed in the hand while unsuccessfully trying to fend off a robbery suspect in Arverne Saturday afternoon, police said.

Officers said a man approached the senior in the elevator of a building on Almeda Avenue near Beach 51st Street around 1:30 before allegedly flashing a knife and demanding money.

The blade cut the woman in the hand as she defended herself, police said.

The suspect allegedly made off with an unknown amount of money, according to the NYPD.

Police said the victim declined medical attention.
