JAMAICA — A grandmother is facing charges after leaving her 5-year-old granddaughter in her car outside Resorts World Casino in Jamaica on Saturday afternoon.

With temperatures in the mid-20s, the child was noticed by a security guard who called the authorities. Police then called EMS respondents to check the child for injuries or medical concerns and reunited the child with her mother, police said.

Renee Osby, 56, was arrested and was released without bail, police said.

Osby had been temporarily barred from seeing her grandchild and has been charged with acting in a manner injurious to a child, police said.

Osby’s next court appearance is scheduled for March 6.
