A man who repeatedly stabbed a straphanger on a Forest Hills train last month was arrested on Jan. 12, according to Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown.

Matthew Jacobs, 26, of St. Albans was arrested after he stabbed a 42-year-old man, who was with his 13-year-old daughter and exiting an F Train at the 71st-Continental Avenues station on Dec. 20, 2015.

According to the criminal complaint, the victim first saw Jacobs on a Queens-bound R train. The man and his daughter were later waiting for a Jamaica-bound F train at about 7:20 p.m. when Jacobs bumped into his butt and lower back on the platform, “causing substantial pain.”

Jacobs bumped into him again and pushed him into another passenger as he was entering the F train with his daughter. As the victim exited the train at the Union Turnpike-Kew Gardens station, Jacobs bumped into him again and then pushed him into a train pillar where he stabbed him for the fourth time, court documents show.

The suspect followed the father and daughter through the turnstile as they exited the stop “for no legitimate purpose,” the complaint said. The victim did not know he had been stabbed until he got home, when he observed blood on his pants.

He was taken to Forest Hills Hospital, where he was treated for his four puncture wounds, according to authorities.

Jacobs is charged with second-degree assault, endangering the welfare of a child, criminal possession of a weapon, stalking and harassment.

He is currently being held on $30,000 bail and is due back in court on Feb. 8.
